enjoy adding that touch of "country" to all our hand carved wood art! When you
look at our woodcarvings
, you get a sense of " realism" as well as " nature's voice".

Here at ' Simple-Life-Creations
", you are not limited by our wood art inventory alone. No......... you have the freedom of
choosing your own special little critter or fish! Should you have a specific species in
mind, we can make this a reality for you.
Our wood carvings can
be made with different looks, back-grounds, sizes, or even added with other pieces. We've
carved , for example, a largemouth bass out of a " cypress" log, weighing
400lbs. and 7ft. tall! You'll note , it is in our " group photo". Imagine the
disbelief when your friends see this "BIG" bass in your possession!!
Here at "Simple
Life Creations" we are only limited by our imagination.
Should you have a
specific type of wood in mind, we are open to this as well. But please remember: All wood
is not the same. Some species of woods are more prone to " checking" or "
cracking " than other woods.
About our custom
wood carvings
All of our selected
wood , for carving,is Kentucky- grown timber. We salvage trees in our area that have been
taken down by local tree service companies or state road departments. So some of these
trees actually get a " second chance" to live!
Our preferred wood of
choice is " eastern red cedar". Here at "Simple Life Creations"
we also offer " River-driftwood" for some of our wood-carvings to be mounted on.
The driftwood we use comes from the banks of the Mississippi River and Kentucky Lake, here
in Western Kentucky.
We also offer our
wood-carvings " painted " or left " natural" , where the wood-grain is
visible. We use acrylics on all of our painted pieces and a " crystal-clear"
finish on our fish carvings for that " just out of the water" look! Here at
" Simple Life Creations " we love giving a little life back to "
discarded" trees.
With carving tools in hand, the
right piece of wood, and undistracted imagination it's hard to keep from carving 24-7!! So
